Best Rewards Credit Cards

Choosing the best credit card for your needs can be tough. People are looking for a card with benefits; nobody wants to carry a balance without any personal benefits. That’s where rewards credit cards come in. Rewards cards offer many benefits to its users; some may have air miles, others will give you cash back, and others will send you gift cards. Don’t know which rewards credit card is best for you? We’ve found five of the best around.

American Express Blue Cash Preferred Card

This is the best credit card to use for gas and grocery purchases. The Blue Cash Preferred Card gives 6% cash back on up to $6,000 worth of groceries per year; after you spend $6,000, you get 1% back. The rewards don’t stop there; you’ll also get 3% cash back at the pump.  If you spend $1,000 within the first 3 months of owning the card, you’ll get $150 back, which more than covers the $75 annual fee.

If you aren’t interested in an annual fee, you should look at the Blue Cash Everyday Card. This alternative offers 3% on groceries up to $6,000 and 2% on gas and selects department store purchases. Instead of getting a $150 sign up bonus opportunity, you’ll only get $100.

Citi Double Cash Card

What’s better than getting 1% cash back on all of your purchases? Getting another 1% back when you pay off your purchases. The pros don’t stop there: the Citi Double Cash Card has no annual fee, and there isn’t a cap to the potential rewards. You can choose to receive cash back in the form of a gift card, check, or have it credited to your balance.

Barclaycard Arrival Plus World Elite MasterCard

This is the best rewards card if you’re always up in the air. For every dollar you put on the card, you’ll get 2 miles back. Whenever you use your credit towards travel expenses, you get 5% in miles back. The $89 annual fee is waived for the first year; within the first three months after opening the account, you can get 40,000 miles by spending $3,000. Globetrotters will be pleased to know that this card doesn’t have any foreign transaction fees.

Chase Freedom Card

The Chase Freedom card gives you 5% back in certain categories, such as Starbucks or Amazon purchases, that change every year. You can get unlimited 1% back on any other purchases. This is another card without an annual fee, and if you spend $500 within three months after getting your card, you’ll get $100 back in rewards.
